Consider the offerings brought by Cain and Abel in Genesis 4. Why was one offering more acceptable to God than the other? Was it because of the condition of their heart towards brining the sacrifice to the throne?

We cannot go through life trying to please people. If you do you will be miserable. You MUST find out and know who You are in Christ and who God made you to be. You must know your identity. Once you know your identity live it strongly and proudly -- regardless. Not everyone will love or even like you for who you are -- but that's okay. Although connections with people are important and is your wealth power I do not believe that you have to be connected to everyone. Be connected to the people who appreciate and value you.
I look at it like marketing. Who is your target audience? Who are your social and professional network? Those are the ones who will appreciate and respect who God made you to be and will make room for your skills and talents.
Be true to yourself. Love yourself enough to love yourself!
Be transparent and sincere in your words and deeds. When you walk in your authority the atmosphere where you are will shift.
Don't allow man to rule you. Allow God to rule you. Walk in His authority. Be humble but confident in who you are.

The hand if the LORD is mighty. He will deliver you. Sometimes he hardens your enemy's heart or makes your situation very tough so that when you are delivered you will KNOW that He delivered you. You will KNIOW that it was not by your power or any other human power. You will KNOW God. You will then give him GLORY and the world will recognize that His hand is mighty. It will bring others to repentance and belief in the one true God. Our responsibility is to be obedient to His instructions, to NOT fear, to declare and proclaim His name in the situation, to look for the signs and wonders expectantly, to have FAITH, and to know that God loves you. He wants to show himself mighty in your life so that there will be no question in your mind as to who He is. God is a jealous God and will not allow your enemies to triumph. Repent of your actions. He is loving and faithful to forgive and to stay his hand from your judgement. He will destroy your enemies for your sake and for His glory!
